    Associate Teams program is one of the main instruments for Inria to implement its international scientific strategy For the 2016 call the program is aimed to SupportInria International Laboratories in California Inria SiliconValley Chile Inria Chile China LIAMA Illinois JLESC Africa LIRIMA and Switzerland Inria EPFL In order to set up new African French projects special consideration will be given to proposals in the framework of LIRIMA In the framework of Inria SiliconValley collaborations with CITRIS we invite proposals for ambitious collaborative projects having a complementary funding Strengthen Inria partnershipswith our partners in Brazil FAP India CEFIPRA DST Japan JSPS and Taiwan MOST that have committed to jointly support a selected number of Associate Teams Refer to Specific agreements 2016 section below Set up a limited number max 5 of Associate Teams with Europe 1 in order to foster new collaborations A special attention will be given to projects with the following countries Italy Germany Great Britain Luxembourg Netherlands Spain and Switzerland It is expected that proposals present a clear strategy to get additional funding from H2020 framework programme that will increase its impact Support new partnershipsby putting together complementary competencies to explore new research topics with foreign countries Projects with Boston area partners and the United States East Coast are also expected 1 Eligible countries European Union Member States Members of the European Free Trade Association EFTA and Israël Submission of a new Associate Team selection process and continuation Submission The Inria researcher coordinating the project on the French side hereafter called the French Associate Team coordinator submits the online application form on the specific web site and uploads the template for the scientific project proposal WORD or LATEX There are specific forms to fill in refer to Specific Agreements section for Associated Teams withBrazil India Japan and Taiwan Selection process Proposals will be evaluated by Inria s COST GTRI according to the following criteria Scientific excellence of the project motivation of the general problems identification of the main challenges intended approaches methodologies techniques Balanced participation of researchers from various career stages and contribution to fostering young researchers participation Relevance and consistency of the mobility and work program Expected results and impact of the joint project for each partner mutual advancement of research through the transfer of knowledge and expertise Strategy to obtain other funding in particular from the H2020 framework programme Contribution of the foreign partner to the budget of the Associate Team is expected Based on this evaluation by the COST GTRI and the program goals and priorities EIPD proposes a selection of Associate Teams to Inria executive management which makes the final selection In the framework of specific agreements with Brazil India Japan and Taiwan the selection process is carried out by a Joint Selection Committee Year to year continuation An Associate Team is created for a period of 3 years and progress is monitored on a yearly basis by Inria s European and International Partnerships Department For that purpose each Associate Team s French coordinator
