the season Saturday November 1st Sprint qualification the morning in Saint Trojan les Bains with a beautiful finish along the beach The race was quite fast in a small coastal village not so technical but tricky enough to create some surprises A few good runners missed their race and the qualification to final by the same way This is the case for Simon who had a terrible start and finished just over the top 10 Just enough time to take some rest and it s already time to go to Le Château d Oléron where the quarantine closed at 1pm Yes Théo 1 00pm We took back the same automatisms than the morning relax nap playing cards or just talking depending of the runners waiting for their start Then warm up and this time pressure was much more palpable faces are tense and sights more concentrated Minutes after minutes the number of runner in the warm up area decreased until the last runner to start The race started immediately after the first meters and due to the massive crow high focus was mandatory from the beginning to the end The race was pretty strong high speed was required and despite the few left right route choices After a short suspense and sudden developments Lucas won the title of French Champion just ahead Loïc CAPBERN and Mickael BLANCHARD On the ladies race Léa VERCELOTTI finish first Amélie CHATAING second and Isia took the bronze medal Sunday November 2d Back on the relay area As it was predictable it started very fast and the forest and circuit made it perfect for a first leg by night Despite some tricky forking the pack was still substantial after the half of the run It s finally just before the spectator control and a hazardous

JOG sprint champion We went on his home ground for a training weekend and were pleased to invit him So on Saturday morning we run a sprint at Saint Pierre de Boeuf The race was organized by one of our friend Robin who put sportident control flag and everything for the nine of us It was almost as well organized as a national championship The race was really interested with some very distinct parts An old town and tricky part with narrow street and stairs a park with very high running speed and finally and more technical park around an artificial river for kayaking On this afternoon we did some team cohesion with rafting and hydrospeed on the river A really nice afternoon On Sunday morning we went on a small running competition at Le Bessat where last Junior European Cup was hold last year There were two distances 11km and 24km Lucas won the 11km ahead of some specialist of trail running Briuc also did a fantastic race with a fourth place Perrine was 2nd and Isia 4th in the women class On the 22km Théo ran well and took a 6th position The 11km s results http www

create tricky sprints with artificial fences like last year WOC where 400m of fences were put So even if the terrain looked quite easy we had to be focus and aware of that to avoid traps I jumped in directly on the first control where I got confused and had troubles to find the right routechoice I did a bad routechoice and lost more than 20 That was bad start to reach the final and even if the rest of the race was OK technically physical shape was far from OK still it was not enough and I crossed the line out of top 40 without big surprise For the rest of the team Fredo the new rising star in Finland cheered more than Minna qualified quite easily just as Lea and Amelie Philippe did a big mistake and was unfortunately kicked out top 40 Afternoon was final time As the morning there were a lot of artificial fences and the terrain was like a huge labyrinth in where routechoices were very too complex This map surprised a lot of runners who all agreed at finish that to make it harder due to barriers was a good idea but that in this case it was a bit too much For French Team Lea did a great race and ended at 12th place 1 01 from Judith Wyder Swiss Fredo was disappointed as he didn t get the flow during the race finishing 15th 54 down to sprint specialist Jonas Leandersson Sweden Amelie got a 31st place 1 42 after the winner The day after was the sprint mixed relay Best would have been to test WOC team Celine Lucas Fredo Léa but as only half of the team was present the composition was me Philippe Fredo Léa Less surprised than

2011 Lucas was ahead of Philippe Adamski and Vincent Coupat In both women and men classes we can see the new generation with very good results from the youngsters Maelle Beauvir Arnaud Perrin and Adrien Delenne The middle and long of Saturday and Sunday were in Longchaumois on a new and interesting map As Jura is both on France and Swiss border it was a common national competition for both countries More than 2000 runners were running and chilling on the arena On the middle distance Lucas took a nice 4th place despite some small mistakes and Brieuc took victory in the M21A class For me it was a disaster I was not fully focused on orienteering and I paid it cash After our poor performance from Saturday we were motivated for the long distance but none of us found enough energy to perform on this very tough long distance It was a both technical and physical race and we run it under the first heats of the year As announced in the presentation video les lanterns control with swiss accent were hard to found and at the end it is always the swiss who wins Anyway it was a
